Kustom K-100 amp and speaker cab

guitarz.blogspot.com:

Several of you correctly identified the Kustom Kat in our quiz last week.

Kustom Amplification were founded in 1966 and their solid-state amps were quite eye-catching being covered in Tuck-And-Roll naugahyde, similar to automobile upholstery of the era. Colours included Red Sparkle, Blue Sparkle, Gold Sparkle, Cascade Sparkle (Teal), Charcoal Sparkle, Silver Sparkle, and Flat Black (no sparkle).

The Kustom Kat was a promotional item originally given away with purchased Kustom amps and were available in the same colours. They were similar to the naugas, supposedly being the creature from which naugahyde comes from. (Apparently naugas shed their skins naturally and - luckily for them - no naugas were killed for their skin in order to make naugahyde!)

Pictured here is a Kustom K-100 amp and speaker cab in Cascade Sparkle. This amp is currently for sale on eBay, but the seller doesn't mention there being a matching Kustom Kat.

The Kustom Kats themselves are quite collectable. The one we looked at in the quiz is currently for sale on eBay with a starting price of $295.95 - I'm told these can sometimes fetch up to $1,000.

Guitar Display Coffee Table

guitarz.blogspot.com:

I do like this guitar display coffee table. It's an elegant but very simple idea, and surely a legitimate way to get a guitar out of your "den" or music room and into the lounge!

HandyTab - The Pocket Music Stand

guitarz.blogspot.com:

Christmas will soon be upon us and if you are unsure what to buy the guitarist in your life, or alternatively don't know what to ask for for yourself, you could do a lot worse than to get one of these little gizmos. The HandyTab looks to be quite a cool little accessory. C'mon, we've all tried playing guitar whilst following music or lyrics on scraps of paper lying on the floor and perched on top of an awkward surface. Having the music on a flexible gooseneck attached to the guitar head looks like the perfect solution. It's a simple idea, but then the best ideas often are!

Buy it now from: http://www.handytab.co.uk/

AxeGlove - THE Ultimate Guitar Protection System

You're not coming in here dressed like thatIt's that time of year where many guitar sites and blogs like to bring to your attention various guitar-related gifts.

Well, how about the AxeGlove, designed to protect your pride and joy from knocks and dents.

There are tales of this product being demonstrated at guitar shows with the salesman bashing a Les Paul custom protected by the AxeGlove against a hard surface, only to remove the cover and show that the guitar was unmarked.

Apparently you can keep it on the guitar as you play too! Possibly you could wear a woolly hat and scarf to match.

Obviously, it's not a product that's going to appeal to the lover of relic-look guitars.

And is it just me, or does anyone else remember a similar product called the "Guitar Sock" a couple of years ago?

Let's face it. It's pyjamas for your guitar.
