Here's another delightfully eccentric hand-made bass from Steve Wishnevsky, a.k.a. Wish Bass. This unique, one-off fan-fretted bass is called the Holy Lobe Bass and is currently up for grabs on eBay with a Buy It Now price of $500. The through neck is made from laminates of mahogany, purpleheart and maple, and the body is of wild cherry. As on other Wishbasses, there is no trussrod. It also features a Kent Armstrong humbucker, and the controls are basic being just limited to just a single volume.
I really like the way the guitar looks slightly unsymmetrical and "wonky". It looks handmade, but not in a bad way, but in more of an organic, back to basics, no-nonsense approach.
Despite its slight off-centre look, it is still a recognisable guitar design. It's not as wacky as his Banana Bass that we have previously seen on this blog.

Here's a rather wacky-looking left-handed acoustic fretless "banana bass" from the now legendary rustic luthier Steve Wishnevsky. This one looks like it was inspired by an early harp guitar design.
